Working with

I am associate professor in political science at Halmstad University and an associate researcher at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris. My areas of specialization include political theory and the history of political thought. I am currently engaged in three concurrent research projects. The primary project focuses on the modern political principle of equality. In dialogue with key interpretations of equality as both a political ideal and practice, and drawing on insights from various social-theoretical traditions, I explore how the contemporary debate on "relational equality" in analytical philosophy can be advanced by engaging with the work of the French social philosopher Marcel Gauchet and the broader social-philosophical tradition that informs his thought. This study is written in English. Concurrently, I am co-editing a monograph on ideology critique, collaborating with two colleagues (also in English), and authoring a student-oriented monograph on the concept of freedom in political thought (in Swedish). I have previously conducted research on the historical turn in human rights and educational politics in Sweden during the post-war period.
