Order articles and books
Do you need a book, article, journal or any other material the library doesn't have access to? In most cases we can order the material from another library through an interlibrary loan, or we purchase the material. Fill in one of the choices below and we will get back to you.
Rules for interlibrary loans
This service is for students, researchers and employees at Halmstad University, and also external students. You must have a registered library card from Halmstad University Library. The public is referred to the public libraries in Halmstad municipality.
Costs for interlibrary loans
Articles for students and researchers: 40 SEK. Please note that you have to pay full price as soon as the order has been processed, regardless if you change your mind and do not collect your article. If you are an employee at Halmstad University, your School pays for the loan.
Articles for other libraries: 80 SEK per article.
Books: Interlibrary loans within the Nordic countries are free. Loans outside the Nordic countries are charged actual costs (150–250 SEK).
Processing time for interlibrary loans
Delivery time is usually around 5–7 working days but can vary. The library which owns the book sets the terms and conditions for that loan.
When the ordered materials have arrived, you will get a notification through email and can collect the book at the library reception desk. If you are a member of staff at Halmstad University, you will get your articles through the internal mail.
From Monday, November 30, the library opens up to all visitors, but with restrictions. For the general public and students at another university, the library should not be considered a meeting place or workplace. You go in, do your errand and go out again.
This means that printed material is once again accessible by visiting the library, and the possibility to request printed material to be sent to your home is no longer possible.

Distance students living outside of Halmstad municipality can also get books and articles sent to their homes.
