Publishing support for researchers
As a researcher at Halmstad University, the University Library can assist you with questions regarding scientific publishing, such as how you publish and make your research visible, DiVA, management of research data, and more.
Knowledge base for researchers
Based on questions submitted to the library about scientific publishing, we have designed articles and guides for our users and collected them in a knowledge base, which is updated frequently.
If you are interested in any of these topics, we can come to your academy and discuss them further. Please get in touch with us by e-mail, and we will book a suitable opportunity.
Publish and make your research visible
To maximize the impact of your research, there are many factors to take into consideration. Where and how you choose to publish your research is of strategic significance. Already during the planning stages of your research, you may consider the choices of publication outlets and how to make your results as visible as possible.
In the library´s knowledge base, you can read about publishing strategies, such as:

Register research publications in DiVA
DiVA (The Digitial Scientific Archive) is Halmstad University’s Institutional repository.
All researchers at Halmstad University are required to register their publications in DiVA. The publishing policy of Halmstad University also recommends, when possible, to make sure that the full text becomes available as Open Access. This can be done either through publishing in an Open Access journal, or in a journal that allows parallel publishing.
The library is working with the approval of bibliographic data and quality assurance of the publication metadata.
Do you have any questions? In our knowledge base, you will find information such as how to register and publish in DiVA, how to save personal data, and more. You can also contact us by e-mail.

Research data
The library, together with Research Support and the archives, is involved in developing support for the management of research data at the University.
Some funding agencies require the establishment of a data management plan. Such a plan is a living document. The plan defines how the handling of research data will be carried out through the entire project. It holds parameters such as how and in what way data is stored, and to what extent the data will be made visible after the end of the project. The principles for shareable research data is described with the term FAIR: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.
In our knowledge base you will find more information about research data. Here you will find, among other things, a definition of what research data is and why you should share it, the FAIR-principles, data management plans, how to find and store research data, and more.
