I am associate professor in Second Language Acquisition responsible for teaching in the areas second language acquisition, in particular grammar and vocabulary, as well as teacher training in linguistics. My main research interests lay with: bilingualism/multilingualism; second and heritage language acquisition and development, especially morpho-syntax and syntax-semantics; psycholinguistics; Heritage and minority language education; Heritage and minority language teaching; Second Language Instruction; Bayesian statistics for Applied Linguistics research. My research aims to answer two key questions:
1. How is grammar represented in the human brain?
2. How does age of exposure and knowledge of other languages modulate heritage and second language development?
I'm involved in the following projects and research collaborations:

Moreover, I am co-supervisor to Andrea Calpe Alvarez on her PhD project titled "Language Attrition and Ultimate Attainment of Adjectives in Near-native Spanish Grammars" at the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain. Finally, I am actively involved in outreach work training teachers and other educational leaders in bilingual schools of the Stockholm area on topics such as heritage language education and bilingual/multilingual acquisition and instruction.
