Curious on district heating and cooling systems from various aspects. Obtained results from this curiosity have been documented in textbooks, reports and articles. Writing now a book about the world history of district heating. Ten highlights in my professional life have been:

2021, One of my research publications is cited every sixth hour during the entire year.

2016, Published a basic textbook in Swedish about our energy supply system as introduction for energy engineering students

2014, One of the authors behind the fourth generation district heating definition article, that is now the most cited scientific article about district heating.

2013, One of two authors of the one and only textbook in English about district heating and cooling, later to also be translated into Swedish and Korean.

2009, Had a presentation for the EU Energy Council of ministers about the importance of energy efficiency and the corresponding opportunities.

2008, Coined the expression of ‘Fourth Generation of District Heating’, labelling the movement for decarbonisation of district heating with more efficient systems.

2006-2009, Proposed and participated in the establishment of DHC+, the European platform for district heating and cooling research.

2005-2006, Performed the first proper overview of the European heat market and the corresponding opportunities for district heating and cooling together with Euroheat & Power.

1990-2019, Have performed more than fifty external short courses for employees at district heating companies.

1980-2020, Have presented my research findings in more than twenty countries.
