Green Bridge Island – electricity supply across borders
The project involves connecting the electricity grids of Denmark and Sweden across the Øresund bridge, which requires close cooperation between the two neighboring countries’ national energy companies and regulatory authorities. This pre-project aims to identify key actors and stakeholders that will be crucial partners in the following large-scale project.
When the Øresund bridge was built, the power supply to the bridge was the primary concern. In this project, the power supply from the bridge to both countries will be the focus. This requires cross-border cooperation.
The development of a sustainable and robust electricity supply in the region is better solved through cross-border cooperation as it requires collaboration and coordination between both countries to achieve a common goal. This cooperation can also lead to more efficient and cost-effective solutions by sharing resources and knowledge and leveraging each partner’s strengths and expertise.
This pre-project aims to identify key actors and stakeholders that will be crucial partners in the following large-scale project. It also aims to serve as a demonstrator of the benefits that artificial intelligence and machine learning can bring when used to solve critical energy challenges.
