PAIN – living with chronic pain
Chronic pain is one of our biggest public health problems based on occurrence and impact on individuals and society. This project is about health and experiences of long-term pain in muscles and joints.
The project's aim
Knowledge is needed about why certain people have an increased risk of developing long-term pain and ill health. The overall aim is to detect and prevent long-term pain conditions earlier and to understand the connections between pain, ill health and psychosocial factors in the development and maintenance of long-term pain.
This project contains several sub-studies around people's experiences of living with chronic pain. The project focuses on patients' experiences of how risk factors are minimised and health factors are strengthened in relation to sleep, pain and stress. The project contains both quantitative and qualitative research.
