I have a PhD in media and communication studies and defended my thesis called "Digital distinctions: class and continuity in young men's everyday media practices" in 2014. My research centers on how digital media is part of young people's everyday life, digital inequalities and social class, and - increasingly - the emotional dimensions of digital life. I have recently examined young people's experiences of being involuntarily disconnected from social media, and at the moment I am exploring the interplay between everyday media practices and emotional experience of boredom among young adults.

I am the program director for the three-year undergraduate program in media and communication studies at Halmstad University.
