I am a senior lecturer in Aesthetics and Innovation and Ph.D. in Aesthetic expression with a focus on educational science. In 2016 I defended my doctoral thesis "Positions in dance - about gender, agency and dance movements in primary school practice", at the University of Gothenburg. With social constructionist and feminist theory, the doctoral thesis highlights how children do gender when they compose dances. As a senior lecturer I teach in the pre-school teacher education with an aesthetic profile, where my teaching is focused on scientific theories and methods, supervisning essays and aesthetic forms of expression, specifically dance as artistic expression.
As a former dance teacher and principal in various school forms, my research interest involves both structural levels as well as classroom practices. My research focuses on gender, inclusive pedagogy, aesthetics and dance in educational settings such as pre-school, school-age educare and Public Music and Arts schools. I am also focusing on policy documents and pre school teacher education. I am part of the steering group for the Network for Aesthetic Subjects in Teacher Education, and organized the network's conference "Cultural Education for All? Aesthetic Learning and Social Sustainability" at the University of Halmstad during the fall 2022. I am also a member of the newly started network for Public Music and Arts school-related research. I am active in the research program Movemet 4 Health ad performance. Since autumn 2023, I am International advisor at The School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Halmstad.
During 2024-2025, I have received funds via STINT for a so-called Teaching sabbatical, which means that for four periods of about one month I will teach teacher and preschool teacher training at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education in Vietnam.
During 2023-2024, I lead the ULF research project Dance in preschool education - preschool teachers' reflections on their own ability to conduct dance education with the children in preschool. The research project includes three preschools from Ängelholm, Höganäs and Halmstad municipalities.
