I am an interdisciplinary researcher trained in conservation biology and environmental psychology, and work within the TRAINS research programme at Halmstad University. I teach on the bachelors programme in Conservation biology and biodiversity. My research is applied with focus on wildlife conservation and management in multiuse landscapes where interactions between wildlife and people occur, generating both positive and negative outcomes and a potential for conflicts. In relation to the return of large carnivores in Sweden I have gained a broad understanding through my research on carnivore ecology, temporal patterns of damage to domestic animals, interventions intended to prevent damage on domestic animals, and human perceptions of carnivore presence and interventions to prevent damage on domestic animals. I have also been involved in research projects focusing on environmental communication to promote mitigation of crop damage caused by increasing goose populations in Sweden, and the impact of goal activation for sustainable consumption. Another key component of my work is to make research available to stakeholders and society, and I have therefore engaged in systematic review of evidence for wildlife damage mitigation and the creation of the open research portal EviWild where research is made accessible through condensed syntheses of evidence.
