The LIV project – an individualized lifestyle intervention for people diagnosed with schizophrenia

The aim of the project was to investigate the effects and cost-effectiveness of a lifestyle intervention in the areas of physical activity, diet, alcohol and tobacco for people diagnosed with schizophrenia.

The specific questions to investigate the impact of the intervention on are:

  1. Health-related behaviours, such as physical activity, dietary habits, alcohol intake and smoking habits.
  2. The risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease, measured by clinical variables and blood tests.
  3. The underlying disease, measured as psychiatric symptoms and with validated measuring instruments.
  4. Health economic variables.
