Intelligent Production and Automation

This course explores cyber-physical production systems, smart products, IoT, sensors, and communication standards. Students will learn about sensor technology, machine learning, additive manufacturing, and factory-level optimization with a focus on sustainability. By the end of the course, students will be able to explain digitalisation''s impact, use digital twins, apply CAD & CAM tools, and enhance production performance. They will be able to evaluate designs against ergonomics, sustainability, and quality standards, as well as assess alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals. Key topics of the course include cyber-physical systems, smart products, sensor integration, additive manufacturing, robotic systems, digital twins, optimisation, and sustainability adaptations.
