Objectives
The aim of the course is that students will learn to use their English skills in business situations. In particular, the student will deepen and broaden their knowledge and awareness regarding the English business language.
Following successful completion of the course the student should:
Knowledge and understanding
- express themselves in correct English in formal business correspondence
- interpret, demonstrate, and present numeric information and figures in business administration in English
- demonstrate a large vocabulary in business English
Skills and ability
- explain the basic concepts in economic fields
- recognise the most common financial and economic terms
Judgement and approach
- analyse as well as discuss the use of the English language business expressions
Content
The course consists of a number of assignments covering business correspondence concerning different purposes, business information, summaries as well as report writing for the business area.
