Clinical Training Center (KTC)
Clinical Training Center (Kliniskt träningscenter, KTC), is a place for future nurses and specialist nurses to learn practical nursing skills in a safe environment.
In hospital rooms, medicine rooms and rooms for conversation, students can practice clinical and nursing skills, collaboration, communication and leadership. They can also practise different scenarios where lifelike simulation manikins act as patients to teach students how to interact and communicate with patients and their next of kin in various care situations.
Parts of KTC are equipped with cameras and microphones, with the possibility to record and live-stream practice sessions. By filming the practice sessions, students have the opportunity to self-reflect and discuss with fellow students and teachers afterwards. Practising clinical skills in a safe environment improves quality, well-being, safety and security for both students and patients.
KTC can also be used to develop, simulate and test the use of health innovations. This is done, for example, by companies that want to test their products in an authentic healthcare environment. The products are tested in the same way that they are going to be used in the future.
