Technical information on the accessibility of the website

This website is partially compliant with the Act on the Accessibility of Digital Public Services, due to the shortcomings described below.

Shortcomings

Non-compliance with all legal requirements.

Problems when using without visual ability / with reduced vision:

  • Automatically generated pdf files (syllabi) are not accessible.
  • Some documents on the website are not accessible.
  • Some videos on the website do not have audio description, such as the videos on the homepage. We try as much as possible to produce videos that do not require audio description, but there are some exceptions.

Problems when using with sensitivity to flicker:

  • Moving video on the starting page. The video can be paused by the user clicking on it.

Unreasonably burdensome adaptation

Halmstad University invokes an exception for unreasonably burdensome adaptation according to Section 12 of the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services for the following content.

  • Automatically generated PDF files (older course and programme syllabi) from the educational database Kursinfo. Those in need of customised course or programme syllabi can contact The University for assistance:
  • Accessibility adapted documents for a limited target group. Some documents are only aimed at a specific target group (e.g. forms or guidelines for placements for student teachers) and adapting these documents would be very resource-intensive without having any impact on the target group. Anyone in need of customised versions of such documents can contact Halmstad University for assistance.
  • Staff pages.

Content not covered by the law

The content described here is not fully accessible, but is exempted under Section 9 of the Act on the Accessibility of Digital Public Services:

  • Video player from Youtube.
