Honorary Doctors
At Halmstad University, the honorary doctorate is a way of expressing gratitude towards a person’s significant achievements within one of the University’s research education areas: Information Technology, Innovation Sciences or Health and Lifestyle.
At the Academic Ceremony an honorary doctor is conferred and given three objects – insigna – as proof of his or her doctoral worthiness. A doctoral hat, that symbolises freedom and power; a doctoral ring, to show faithfulness towards science and a diploma for worthiness.
