PAV – Planning for Autonomous Vehicles
The project PAV (Planning for Autonomous Vehicles) brings together universities, transport organisations and municipalities in seven different countries for a sustainable development of urban environments. The project aims to facilitate the planning and development of new city districts so that they are adapted for electric autonomous vehicles.
Halmstad University will in the project contribute with technologies for connected and collaborative autonomous vehicles. One example of such technology is the communication between vehicles, as well as between vehicles and the infrastructure. The University will also contribute with technical competence in modelling different scenarios with autonomous vehicles. Examples of these scenarios are the traffic flow in cities and how to connect autonomous driving in different environments, such as between a restricted harbour area and the public road network.
Note: The project was previously called SUV (Stimulating the Up-take of Shared and Electric Autonomous Vehicles by Local Authorities) but changed its name to PAV (Planning for Autonomous Vehicles) in 2020.
