Ranagård 4GDH
HEM will extend district heating to 400 new apartments in the Ranagård district of Halmstad, using a new, refined system solution that uses a significantly lower temperature than the current district heating system.
The system solution has been developed at Halmstad University, but has not been tested on a full scale. The benefit of the new technology is lower costs for the renewable, recycled and stored heat in future district heating system. Halmstad University is responsible for two research analyses for quality assurance in the project. The first aims to map acceptance and identify barriers that may arise when introducing new technologies. The second concerns a quality assurance of the new district heating technology so that the intentions of the new technology are fully implemented.
The transdisciplinary project is run jointly by Halmstad University, Halmstad Energi & Miljö (HEM) and Malmö University.
