Since 2018, I have the position as head of the School of Health and Welfare.
I am a professor of Occupational Therapy. My research focuses on people's everyday lives and its impact on health. Everyday life can be described as the pattern of daily occupations that a person engages in during the waking hours and sleep time. Together, these form a pattern that extends throughout the day, and week, and gradually shapes an occupational history.
Within the framework of my research, I have contributed to the development of a theoretical model that describes the complexity of human activity. We call it the ValMO model (Value and Meaning in Occupations model), and our book is used in Swedish occupational therapy programs. I have also developed and evaluated a group intervention called the ReDO program (Re-designing Daily Occupations), which is currently used by certified occupational therapists in both Sweden and internationally. ReDO is aimed at individuals who need to make changes in their everyday lives for better health and, for example, workability. Research on ReDO is important, and I am involved in several implementation and evaluation projects. One focus is to increase accessibility by exploring the possibilities of a digitalized version of the program and the development of applications for self-analysis of one's own daily life.
I supervise doctoral students in the University's research education area Health and Lifestyle, as well as in Occupational Therapy at Lund University. Through the doctoral students, my research has developed in various directions, including new problem areas and new groups but with my main focus: everyday life and health.
