Working with

Cristofer Englund is Dean of the School of Information Technology where he also holds a professor position in information technology. He has a PhD in electrical engineering from 2007. Cristofers teaching is mainly through supversion of bachelor and master thesis projects within machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). Throughout the years his students have been awarded several grants and rewards such as Wimanska priset (2019), SAIS Master thesis award in the area of artificial intelligence (2017,2021) and Sparbankstiftelsen kronans award (2018). His research involves machine learning, in various applications such as emotion and posture recognition, behavior and intention prediction and anonymization. In addition, he has a long track record in vehicular communication (V2V and V2I) for traffic safety and automated driving applications. Cristofer supervises Felix Rosberg, who is an industrial PhD student and employed at Engage Studios in Gothenburg. Felix's research deals with the anonymization of images and video, where the challenge ensure that personal information is removed and cannot be recreated from the anonymized image. Cristofer was also a supervisor for Maytheewat Aramrattana, who had a shared employment between Halmstad University and VTI. Maytheewat's research dealt with the analysis of traffic safety in a connected transportation system.
