Students inspired by future collaborations and career opportunities

The ITE fair is an annual highlight where students and companies meet to establish connections for future collaborations. In early November, this year’s fair gathered approximately 400 students and more than 30 companies in Visionen at Halmstad University.

The ITE fair represents a crucial step towards entering professional life for many students studying Information Technology, Electronics or Mechatronics at Halmstad University. The fair continues to grow steadily, and this year, about 400 students mingled with representatives from 34 different companies.

“Your career starts today”

Nicolina Månsson, Programme Director for the programmes in Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering and Electrical Engineering, describes the fair as relevant for all students at the School of Information Technology (ITE), regardless of their level of study.

“We tell our students in their first lecture that their career starts today. The purpose of the fair is to help them build a network and plan for their future”, Nicolina Månsson explains during this year’s fair.

The ITE fair has become a well-attended event, and Nicolina Månsson encourages students from all years to take advantage of the opportunities it offers:

“First and second-year students gain a better understanding of the job market and companies’ technical needs, strengthening their motivation and understanding in their courses. Third to fifth-year students focus more on internships, summer jobs, graduation projects and future career opportunities.”

Valuable connections in one place

Two final-year students who attended this year’s fair are Muhammed Ismail Demir and Jasmine Alani from the programme Computer Engineering. They both recognised the value of the event early in their studies and can testify that it has opened doors for them since their first year.

“The ITE fair is truly an excellent opportunity to make connections and find internship possibilities”, says Muhammed Ismail Demir, while Jasmine Alani adds:

“We will soon begin our graduation project, so it is valuable to see which companies offer opportunities for thesis work and in which areas.”

Muhammed Ismail Demir and Jasmine Alani has visited the fair for three consecutive years.

Great opportunities to discover future career paths

Both students say they are very satisfied with their years at the University and that it is a bridge to professional life, and they consider this year’s ITE fair a success.

“The fair has been a fantastic opportunity for us to network and discover the exciting career opportunities available”, concludes Muhammed Ismail Demir.
