EDUCERE NORDIC Network
We are pleased to invite you to the next webinar of the EDUCERE NORDIC Network.
Theme: How Serious Games can be engaging and motivate learning.
We have invited
Thomas Bjørner, Associate Professor, Head of Media Innovation and Game Research, Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology, Aalborg University Copenhagen,
to share his experiences of game-based learning in higher education and initiate the discussion around the experiences of engaged university students: How Serious Games can be engaging and motivate learning.
The Medialogy bachelor and master programs at Aalborg University, within the faculty of IT & Design, incorporate Serious Games as a key pedagogical tool. The results derived from this teaching and learning approach underscore that Serious Games foster student engagement and sustaining motivation to learn.
Furthermore, students experience heightened levels of engagement in their studies, particularly when utilising applied games addressing societal challenges within the educational framework.

About EDUCERE
The network, that has been initiated across universities from Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, strives to gain a deeper understanding of the digitalization in higher education and to explore the impact of the abrupt switch to online teaching and learning necessitated to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
A special focus is devoted to the Nordic exchange of data and findings in relation to the experiences of the students and staff across disciplines and educational formats. We also aim to offer platforms to share the best practices across disciplines and countries, to guide universities in developing teaching practices in a post-pandemic era.
