The Student Union
The Student Union is driven by students with the main task to ensure high quality of the programmes and courses, to make sure that rules are being followed and that all students have the possibility to give feedback on their education. In addition to this, the Student Union is also organising a lot of fun events and social acitivites for the students at Halmstad University. Some of them require a Student Union membership, while other activities are open for everyone to join. If you wish to be engaged on a deeper level, you can apply to become a part of the Student Union Board, to further influence your studies and your student life.

Fresher's Week
The Student Union organises a week full of social activities for all new students starting at Halmstad University. This is a great way to meet new friends and explore your new student city and the campus area. The fresher's week is volountary and free of charge for members of the Student Union.
The University Friendship Organization (UFO)
The Univerisity Friendship Organisation is an association connected to the Student Union, his group aim to support social integration of international students by arranging activities to make their stay in Sweden as good as possible.
UFO organises popular trips and excursions to exotic places such as Moose safari in Småland and Northern Light hunting in Lapland. They are also in charge of the buddy programme where you get paired up with a student from another country to exchange cultural and linguistic knowledge.

Student associations
Involvement is a big part of life as a student. The more engaged you are, the more connections you make which will lead to a richer student experience and a greater professional network.
Halmstad University is characterised by an entrepreneurial spirit, which is reflected in the amount of activities to get involved in. Join one of the many student associations that are active, or start a new one if your area of interest is not represented.
