Strategic Communication and Crisis Communication

7,5 credits

What relations do organizations have to their external environment – and how can communication be used as a tool for establishing and maintaining such relations? This question is the starting point for the course, which centres on the ways in which organizations can use strategic communication and/or public opinion formation in order to build beneficial relations to external publics. The course addresses environmental monitoring and analysis for organizations, public relations and issues management, as well as corporate social responsibility and opinion formation as strategic tools. A special section on crisis communication is also included in the course.
