In my project I aim to explore how new industries and (international) new ventures (co)emerge, (co)legitimate, and compete and how these processes not only shape their (co)emergence and (co)legitimation, but also shape existing and contributes to the creation, emergence and legitimation of new institutions and policies. Within this scope, I aim to investigate different approaches taken by international new ventures in various creative industries such as Advertising, Design, and Gaming to understand how legitimacy is conferred, obtained and even lost amongst new industries and new ventures and emerging polity.
Of concern will also be how these new international ventures and sectors legitimize themselves during the radical shift from one type of order to another. This will then pave way for a better understanding of the industry as well as development of policy to improve the sector.
