I am the research leader for the Information Driven Care programme at Halmstad University, where researchers from multiple disciplines conduct research on the development and implementation of data- and technology-driven solutions that strengthen healthcare’s capacity to use information in a sustainable and meaningful way. Within the programme, the research profile CAISR Health combines research on the development of AI tools with studies of how these tools can be introduced and used in clinical practice, in close collaboration with Region Halland and Swedish industry partners.

A particular focus lies on the responsible implementation of AI in healthcare, studied within the Healthcare Improvement Research Group. The research explores how new technologies transform healthcare practices and organisation, how professional roles, responsibilities and collaborations evolve, and how ethical considerations are understood in the design and use of AI solutions. Through an interdisciplinary and co-creative approach, we aim to generate knowledge that supports sustainable improvement and creates value for patients, healthcare organisations and society.

I am also the project leader for the National Graduate School in Health Innovation, a collaboration between seven universities and partners from industry, regions and municipalities. The graduate school includes 14 PhD students and strengthens national capacity for research, development and implementation of digital health innovations.

Additionally, I am a researcher in the UserInvolve programme, a national collaboration between universities, user organisations and welfare actors in mental health. The programme increases knowledge about user influence and participation among people with lived experience of mental illness, and develops strategies to strengthen influence at individual, organisational and system levels.
