Scholarships for students at Halmstad University

Tuition fee scholarships
Halmstad University offers tuition fee scholarships to a limited amount of high performing students who have shown great results during their studies at Halmstad University. No consideration will be taken to previous studies, work experience or students' financial situation.
The scholarship will cover 25% or 50% of the tuition fee and the scholarship amount will be deducted from the tuition fee. The number of scholarships awarded, and the scholarship amount depend on available scholarship funds.
The application process
Students eligible to apply will receive an email with a link to the online application. The University will contact you via the email address you registered in Ladok for students. Please note that you will need to provide the application number from University Admissions.
If you have citizenship in a European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) country, or Switzerland, you are not required to pay application fee or tuition fee and can therefore not be awarded a scholarship. If you for some other reason has been exempted from paying tuition fee you are not eligible for the scholarship either.
Students who have already been awarded a Halmstad University scholarship or SI scholarship cannot apply.
The notification process
Halmstad University will notify the recipients of scholarships by email. Recipients will receive a scholarship nomination letter and an invoice with the deducted scholarship amount. The scholarship must be accepted or declined by the deadline stated in the nomination letter.
Applicants who are not offered a scholarship will not be notified individually. If you are not awarded a scholarship, you will receive an invoice with the full tuition fee amount.
Scholarship Committee
The committee has the task of compiling the criteria for the nomination and granting of scholarships. The committee will also give suggestions of instructions and regulations concerning scholarships at Halmstad University, and administrate and propose decision regarding current scholarships. The final decision is made by the chairman of the Scholarship Board.
Spring semester scholarships
The scholarship is only offered for the spring semester 2025. These scholarships are offered to students for the second or fourth semester.
The students who have been awarded scholarships for the spring semester 2025 have been notified by email. The application period was 6-13 November 2024.
The nomination process
Students eligible for applying must have paid full tuition fee and were admitted to a:
- Master's programme in autumn 2024 – registered on the first semester
- Master's programme in autumn 2023 – registered on the third semester
Scholarships will be awarded to students registered on the first semester based on their study results registered in Ladok during the first study period.
For students registered on the third semester, scholarships will be awarded based on their total study results registered in Ladok during the first year and the first study period in autumn semester.
Students eligible to apply will receive an email with a link to the online application in November. The Scholarship committee will notify the recipients of scholarships by email in beginning of December.
Autumn semester scholarships
The scholarship is only offered for the autumn semester 2024 and for students admitted to a two-year programmme. These scholarships are offered to students for the third semester.
The online application for the autumn semester 2025 will open in March 2025.
The nomination process
Students eligible for applying must have paid full tuition fee and were admitted to a two year:
- Master's programme in autumn 2023 – registered on the second semester.
Scholarships will be awarded to students based on their study results registered in Ladok during the first semester and the third study period in spring semester. The condition to be nominated is that the student meet the progression requirements to the second year according to the programme syllabus.
Students eligible to apply will receive an email with a link to the online application in March. The Scholarship committee will notify the recipients of scholarships by email at the end of April.
