Insurance during your studies
On this page you can find information about various insurances you are covered by or recommended to sign up for as a student at Halmstad University.
Accident insurance
All Halmstad University students are covered by an accident insurance from Kammarkollegiet. The insurance covers personal injuries caused by accident and is free of charge. This insurance is only valid when you are at the University and when you travel to and from the University. You are also insured if you are doing an internship or a work placement approved by Halmstad University. The insurance does not cover any accidents happening during your free time, hence it is recommended to have a separate insurance for that.
Kammarkollegiet is in charge of the accident insurance for all universities in Sweden. On their website you can read more about the terms and conditions.

How to make a claim and report an accident
If you have experienced an accident during your study time you should report the accident to Helpdesk so that the University can address any potential risks. After you have submitted the report, and if the accident is covered by the accident insurance, you will be contacted by the University's Environment and Security coordinator, who will advise you on how to take the matter further. You can find instructions on how to report an accident via the link below.
Health insurance
The regulations regarding health insurance differ depending on if you are required to pay tuition fee or not, for how long you are studying in Sweden and your type of studies. Please read carefully below for guidance regarding your situation and how you go about to make a claim if needed.
The notification of selection results (admission letter) confirms that you are covered by a health insurance from Halmstad University. If you apply through the Migration Agency web application, you can attach your admission letter as proof of health insurance.
