Start your summer course studies
On this page you can find instructions and other important information that applies to students starting a summer course at Halmstad University. Remember that you must complete all of the steps below to begin your studies.
Create student account and register for your course
You need to create a student account and register for your courses in Ladok for students to be able to register for your upcoming studies and access the University's digital tools. Instructions on how to do this will be visible as soon as the registration period opens. The registration period is one week before the start of your course.
Do you have a Swedish personal identity number? Please go directly to step 2.
1. Apply for activation code
In order to create a user account, you need to apply for an activation code via below form. After submitting the form, the student affairs department will process the information and you will later receive an activation code by email. This might take a few days.
2. Create student account and register for your course
You need to create a student account to be able to register for your upcoming studies and access the University's digital tools.

Go to the student account registration page and choose the option applicable to you. Follow the instructions on the page.

After finishing the instructions you will be redirected to a page showing your student account login details, which you will use for all digital tools at Halmstad University.
Register for your course in Ladok for students
When you have obtained your student account, you can register for your first course in Ladok for students to get access to the course material for the specific course. Login by entering your student account details.

It is important that your contact details are correct so that you don't miss out on important information from the University and from your teachers. You can edit your contact details on "My pages" in Ladok for students.

After registration: Prepare for the study start
Course material in Blackboard
A few hours after you have created your student account, you can log in to Blackboard, the University's learning platform. This is where you will conduct most of your studies and where your teachers will upload your course material. You need to be registered on your course to get access to your study material.
Please note that the course location and/or information may be missing when you log in to Blackboard. This is not an error, it is just because many teachers wait until the course starts to post information. If the teacher has created a course site and you as a student is registered, you can access your course site at the earliest one week before the course starts.
Schedule for online studies
If you are studying an online course, you will find your schedule in the learning platform Blackboard after your have registered for your course and your teacher has added the information.

If you are studying on campus, you can find your schedule on "My page" here at the student web.

Course syllabus
Every programme has a course syllabus describing what you are expected to learn during the programme. In this document, you can read about the setup of the programme, what courses are included and when they are planned to take place.
Similarly, every course has a crouse syllabus, describing the various parts of the course and what you need to laern in order to get your credits. At the end of the course literature document you can find the course literature list, stating which articles and books you are expected to use during the course.
You can access "My page" via the link below or via the menu in the upper right corner (for example on this page). Login with your student account login details.
If you want to access your course syllabus including a literature list prior to registration, you can search for it via below link. Remember to choose the correct semester in the search form.
