    The nomination process

    1. Name and reason for the nomination is submitted through a form. The nomination opportunity opens in mid-November each year, when there are 200 days left until the graduation ceremony.
    2. The form is administered by the project group for the graduation ceremony, which after the end of the nomination period compiles all nominations based on program affiliation.
    3. The summary is sent to the programme directors concerned.
    4. Based on the nominations received, the programme director appoints the student of the year for his or her program.
    5. The project group collects the candidates' names and reasons for nomination and sends these to the decision making comittee.
    6. Based on received nominations the decision making comittee will suggest a candidate for the Student of the Year award (one per School), then a decision is made by the Vice-Chancellor.

The decision making comittee consists of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor with specific responsibility for education (chairman), a representative from the Student Union and the Head of Education from each School.
