Working with
Amira Soliman is an assistant professor of artificial intelligence and machine learning at Halmstad University, specializing in data science, graph analytics, and federated learning. Her areas of expertise include healthcare informatics, social network analysis, and distributed systems. Amira is teaching the courses of Artificial Intelligence for healthcare, Smart Healthcare with applications, Big-data Parallel Programming, Applied Data Mining, Thesis supervision (MSc and PhD). As a Peer-reviewer, Amira reviewed papers for IEEE Internet Computing, Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, Journal of Social Network Analysis and Mining, Journal of Future Generation Computer Systems, IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Web Intelligence, and European Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing.
Prior to joining Halmstad University, Amira worked as a postdoctoral researcher at RISE Sweden conducting research directed towards the exploration of new algorithms for supporting the design and implementation of robust and large-scale learning algorithms. She received her Ph.D. degree in information technology from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) where her doctoral studies were funded by the prestigious Marie Curie Initial Training Networks program in the European Union.
