Measures taken by Halmstad University
Halmstad University has appointed a Crisis Management Group to continuously monitor the situation concerning Covid-19 and to manage overall issues connected with the virus outbreak.
Halmstad University is following the Government’s and Swedish Public Health Authority’s recommendations regarding measures to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, as they are announced.
Emergency information from Swedish authorities
Information about travel restrictions to and from Sweden
Information for our current students is available at our Student web, which is regularly updated.
It’s important to remember that Swedish Higher Education Institutions are independent authorities, with different prerequisites and in charge of their own routines. It is therefore natural that various universities have different solutions to how the daily operations should be conducted, for example how to conduct education in this extreme situation.
Questions related to the education
Will the studies be campus-based or online-based during the autumn semester 2021?
The University has made a temporary transition to distance learning during spring 2021. There are currently no indications from the Swedish government that higher education must continue to be conducted via distance during the autumn semester. Hence, we are planning for campus-based studies in the autumn semester 2021.
The University bases its decisions on the recommendations of the Public Health Agency and the Government, as well as on ensuring, as far as possible, the teaching of students. This means that current advice and restrictions may change.
I have been admitted but I will not be able to start my studies, what can I do?
If you no longer wish to start your studies, you should cancel your admission at University Admissions and notify the Student Affairs Department so that your place can be offered to someone on the waiting list.
I am worried I will not be able to come in time for the start of the semester, what can I do?
If you cannot register on time or arrive in time for the start of the autumn semester, please contact the Student Affairs Department to discuss your situation. The programmes and courses have different deadlines for registration. Your late arrival or late registration has to be granted by the University.
Please keep in mind that it is still quite a long time until the semester starts, and a lot of things can change. If you intend to start your studies on time, you should wait with notifying us of late arrival until you are certain of the situation.
