RLAS - The Rydberg Laboratory for Applied Sciences

Research

District heating in a European perspective focusing on future heat demands, investment costs, excess heat utilisation, renewable heat resources, spatial mapping and geographical information systems (GIS), land use planning, and issues of technology acceptance.
Participates at present in the EU-project ReUseHeat (excess heat recovery from low-temperature sources), which is funded through the Horizon 2020 program.
Between 2016 and 2019, I was work package leader (WP2) in the EU-project HRE4 (the fourth study within the Heat Roadmap Europe context). During the years 2012-2015, I participated in the strategic research center 4DH (on future district heating technologies) coordinated and hosted at Aalborg University in Denmark, and in the IEE-project Stratego (2014-2016). Other previous project include e.g. the two original pre-studies HRE1 (2012) and HRE2 (2013), as well as the IEA project 4th Generation District Heating (4GDH, Annex X) in co-operation with inter alia the Technical University of Denmark (2012-2014). During 2008 to 2011, I also participated in the project Pathways – Swedish System Solutions in co-operation with Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.

Teaching

I am leading the courses Advanced Course in District Heating Technology, 7.5 credits (ER8019) and Geographical Information Systems, 7.5 credits (BI2043).

Expertise

Reader/Ph.D./Lic. Eng., Energy and Environment. Mechanical Engineer with major in Energy- and Environmental Technology. Studies in Social Anthropology. Audio technician.
