Fab Lab Summer Design Project

15 credits

Fab Lab summer design project, 15 credits, is an independent summer course at Halmstad University, where cross-disciplinary knowledge is encountered in a complex and interesting symbiosis.

The course focuses on highlighting an overall perspective on the product development process.

The student will be able to develop products in close collaboration with “trade and industry” at a conceptual stage. The physical starting point is Fab Lab, a creative development center with additive manufacturing as the absolute core of the business.

The design process we are focusing on is the Stanford Design Thinking – Bootcamp Bootleg, a set of tools and methods that you should keep in your back pocket.

You will be given the opportunity to practice personal skills in design methodology, illustration technique and model/manufacturing technology. The course also deals with brand management and targeting.

After the course, you will be able to handle design aspects of product development.
