Advanced Exercise and Nutrition Physiology
The aim of the course is for students to develop deeper knowledge about human physiological function and the importance of nutrition from an exercise and biomedical viewpoint. In this course, the student should integrate previous knowledge in exercise physiology and nutrition with relevant scientific articles and apply the accumulated knowledge on case studies. Moreover, the course should deepen the students’ ability to critically evaluate exercise biomedical information on different levels and be able to communicate scientific knowledge depending on the target audience.
Anatomy and Physiology 15 credits, Biochemistry 7.5 credits, Cell Biology 7.5 credits, Exercise Physiology 7,5 credits, Laboratory Methods in Biomedicine 7,5 credits. Applicants must have written and verbal command of the English language equivalent to English course 6 (Swedish Upper-Secondary School). This can be proved by grades from English education or by such tests as:
- IELTS: score (Academic) of 6.5 or more (with none of the sections scoring less than 5.5)
- TOEFL paper based: score of 4.5 in written test and a total score of 575
- TOEFL internet-based: score of 20 in written test and a total score of 90
