Master's Programme (60 credits) in Exercise Biomedicine - Human Performance, 60 credits
Are you interested in furthering your knowledge in limitations of the human body and possible ways to improve exercise performance? This might be a program for you!
During the studies you will investigate the fundamental role of physical activity and exercise in health and disease, from a natural science perspective. You will learn about the human body’s ability to perform under different circumstances – it can be a sedentary person improving quality of life through physical activity, or an elite athlete trying to improve the world record.
After completion of the program, students should have acquired extensive knowledge and understanding of physiological factors determining human performance, and acquired skills in methods and techniques for assessing, analyzing and evaluating human performance from both a human health
and an elite athlete perspective.
Master of Science (60 credits) with a major in Biomedicine.
The career opportunities available to sport and exercise scientists are expanding, and the expansion appears set to continue into the foreseeable future. This program prepares the student to go into careers in sport and exercise science, or progress to further postgraduate study/research.
Specific eligibility requirements
Bachelor of Science with a major in Biomedicine or Exercise Science or the equivalent of 180 Swedish credit points or 180 ECTS credits at an accredited university - including 90 credits in natural sciences subjects with at least 7.5 credits in Cell Biology, 7.5 credits in Biochemistry, 7.5 credits in Human Physiology or the equivalent.
Applicants must also have written and verbal command of the English language equivalent to English course 6 (Swedish Upper-Secondary School). This can be proved by grades from English education or by such tests as:
