Avhandlingens titel: Gait Event Detection in the Real World
The research involves characterizing gait using wearable sensors (especially accelerometers) and developing a navel methodology that can detect gait events from accelerometer signals collected from real-world scenarios. The thesis shows how domain knowledge about gait could be formulated and used to drive time-frequency analysis of gait signals. It also introduces the possibility of using non-parametric statistical tests for evaluating the accuracy of gait event detection algorithms.
